I’m Walt Cavendish  a farmer who calls Waihou home. I see firsthand what rural communities are up against. I’ll listen first, work with others, and keep decisions democratic and accountable — because that’s how we get results that last.

We need the regional basics done properly:

• Clean rivers & real flood protection
   
• Strong biosecurity & pest control
   
• Public transport that works for our communities
   
• Fair, workable rules (not blanket edicts) made with frontline input
   
• Every dollar tested for value to the people who pay the rates
