Walt Cavendish is a New Zealand farmer with deep roots in rural life and a strong belief in practical, fair and principled farming.

He knows farming isn’t perfect, but it matters. It feeds the country, supports communities and underpins the economy. Walt speaks up for farmers who are busy working and don’t always have the time or voice to explain what’s really happening on the land.

“I’m a change agent. I worry about the problems of ordinary people.”

Walt believes farmers need less red tape, more optimism and the freedom to get on with doing what they do best — farming. 

When farmers are allowed to succeed, the entire country benefits. Farming has built New Zealand’s prosperity and with the right support and a bit less bureaucracy, it will continue to power our economy for generations to come.
