Welcome

Welcome to Farming With Walt, where New Zealand farming is shown as it really is , the early mornings, hard calls, good seasons, bad seasons and everything in between.

Led by farmer and advocate Walt Cavendish, Farming With Walt shares the honest, raw and often unpredictable reality of farming in New Zealand.

No spin. No filters. Just practical farming, straight talk and a deep respect for the land and the people who work it.

Land Wanted – Free-Range Pig Finishing (Waikato)

Farming With Walt is seeking Waikato land for free-range pig finishing. We fatten pigs behind wire on fodder beet as part of a structured cropping rotation, typically over two years before returning the land to crop. We are experienced, practical farmers focused on strong animal welfare, soil health and responsible land stewardship. Suitable cropping ground, well-drained blocks and good access preferred. Short or long-term lease options considered. Confidential discussions welcome.
