Advocacy

A Voice for Practical Farming

Farming With Walt advocates for farmers who want fair rules, practical regulation, and policies grounded in reality not ideology.

We believe:

  • Farmers care deeply about their animals and land

  • Good outcomes come from working with farmers, not against them

  • Bureaucracy should support frontline work, not smother it

  • New Zealand needs strong, productive rural communities

Advocacy through Farming With Walt is about explaining farming clearly, challenging misinformation, and standing up for common sense.

Land Wanted – Free-Range Pig Finishing (Waikato)

Farming With Walt is seeking Waikato land for free-range pig finishing. We fatten pigs behind wire on fodder beet as part of a structured cropping rotation, typically over two years before returning the land to crop. We are experienced, practical farmers focused on strong animal welfare, soil health and responsible land stewardship. Suitable cropping ground, well-drained blocks and good access preferred. Short or long-term lease options considered. Confidential discussions welcome.
